Job Summary
POOL POSITION
Application materials for this position are accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand.
Incumbent assists with the daily operation and maintenance of the greenhouse by providing plant care, maintaining environmental conditions and inventory, supporting plant purchasing and sales, and preparing for educational activities and laboratory classes. The incumbent also supports outreach efforts and ensures greenhouse facilities, tools, and work areas are properly organized and cleaned following lab activities.
This position is grant-funded and is limited to the period of August 2025 through August 2028. Employment beyond this timeframe is not guaranteed and will depend on future funding availability.

Essential Functions
- Assist with the care of plants in the greenhouse, including propagation, watering, fertilization, and pest management.
- Maintain proper environmental conditions in the greenhouse.
- Maintain supplies and inventory for the greenhouse.
- Assist with plant purchasing and any plant sales.
- Assist with educational and outreach activities related to the greenhouse.
- Set up and prepare for lab classes in the greenhouse.
- Follow up greenhouse labs with cleanup and tool pick up.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Horticulture or a related field
- One (1) year of relevant field experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework in agriculture, biology or related subjects
- Experience working with plants
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of an inclusive community
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong oral and written communication skills
